Ok-I have a pair of special cone produced Earnest SewnXX Fultons that are two big. My choices to shrink either involve washing machine and then hang dry or hot or cold soak and then put in the dryer. So which protects the denim and dyes better. Or better put which is more dangerous to the cloth-a spin in the washer or in the dryer. I would like the waist to shrink at least two inches.

Not gonna happen. Get a different size.

either way, if you can't get a different size, the max shrinkage you'll get is via hot soak for a few hours and hot dryer

least intrusive will be cold soak and hang dry, but if you have to choose one, i'd say washer is less intrusive than dryer.

Thanks-I guess I'll keep in the closet another couple of monthes. I had a pair of size 30 551zxx that were definetly on the very tight side. A cold soak and then shoved myself in-now they are practically too big-waist 32. Amazing what you can do with a small pair of jeans.
