is gap premium denim synonymous with selvage/selvedge

i'm not too sure about this, but if 1969 is Gap's premium line, which it was at one point, not sure if it still is, then it is definitley NOT selvage.

in fact, i actually went in today because someone mentioned that they were making waxed jeans, and checked out a few pairs.

none were selvage, but the waxed pair had some kind of folded over white material that made it look like selvage.

pretty deceptive, if you ask me, but i guess thats why gap rakes in the cash from uninformed consumers.

you are probably right. i went into one of the gap stores in long island and "examined" the 1969 denim and couldnt find the telltale signs of selvage. could gap online being selling something different???

if gap online says its selvage, it will be selvage.

i know that gap did release some selvage 1969, but that was back when the guy who designed for Paper and now earnest sewn was head of their denim section.

yeah there older 1969 line had a pair of dark slevedge jeans in them, i have a pair worn a few times for sale if anyone is interested...they are 36X30....let me know, they are aesome jeans, five pocket style with rivets and a red selvedge....one wash i believe.....
