Denim In Tokyo

Hey guys,

Sorry for posting this, I'm sure the questions I've got have been answered a bunch of times but searching around for "Japaense Denim" etc has huge results, and I've already been researching this for a few weeks.

Here's my dilemah: a mate of mine is in Tokyo at the moment and I asked him to pick me up a pair of Sugar Canes, either the Okinawa SC40301 (http://www.rakuten.co.jp/hinoya/119706/256094/177032/) or the standard SC41947A (http://www.rakuten.co.jp/hinoya/119706/256094/132077/). We're both the same size/shape and wear the same size in jeans, and he thinks that the canes don't look that great for dudes like us.

So I'm looking for any suggestions for other Japanese jeans that would be good to grab while he's still over there. I'm a pretty skinny dude so I'm looking for a straight leg jean that isn't too loose. I've got a pair of Nudie Ralphs in 29 and they fit me pretty well.

I'm already thinking of the Edwin ED-47 (I know they've been talked about heaps so I thought I'd eliminate that straight up), but if anyone can suggest any other ones that would be great!

Thanks in advance

Rock On!

Yes, the Studio D'Artisan's ending with a 3 is probably what you want.

You can also look around here ( http://www.j-fabled.com/shopping_jeans.html ) and see if you find any other jeans you like. There is a scale on every pair's page that tells how they fit, you want the box with the 2 to be pink. You also need to remember that almost none of the raw jeans are sanforized, which means they will shrink about 10%. There are a few exceptions, like the Studio D'Artisan SD-203's and maybe the FOB F-151's. You can also buy one wash jeans, they wont shrink any more unless you wash them in more than 40C, and they'll still look great with wear.

What a cool website! Does it do internal ordering? ANy experience? I could spend ages just gazing at all the denim....
