Stretch vs. Rigid sizing

Do you guys usually size up on a pair of rigids, from your stretch sizes (Inversely, do you size down from your rigid size to your stretch)?

I'm a perfect 28 in stretch sizes, but when I tried on a 28 of dry denim rigids, it was super tight and riding almost wedgie-like. I'm thinking I should go with a 29 or even 30 in the dry rigid. My 28 size/size wanted inquired is for skinnier/tapered jeans.

I sized down 1 in the stretch (I assume you're talking about the 511's line). I wear 32 in 100% cotton material but my stretchy 511's (1% spandex, tagged size 31) stretch to about 35" in the waist. I could've size down 2 if I wanted TBH.

I'm just talking about any stretch vs. rigid, but yes, as infinite said, Levi's 511 is particularly salient to me right now.

Infinite, does your 1 size down fit about the same as your 100% cotton, after both are worn a bit? Or would you say 2 sizes down would've fit about the same?

Don't think it matters, I feel like they'd strech more the tighter they are but if you sized down 2, you'd have a more slimmer cut, I only sized down 1 from my regular levis size and the jeans fit just nice, kinda slouchy and baggy. They always shrink back post wash temporarily but after a few hours of wear they'll stretch.

Bottom line, size down 1 if you like sagging, 2 if you like them to hug them balls. ;p

So I'm guessing your regular Levi's size is kinda slouchy and baggy?

Nevertheless, thanks for the info. If your answer to my above question is yes, then I'll keep my current dry rigid (as it's a little slouchy and baggy) in the 511 but pick up a gray stretch in 1 size smaller. Thanks!
