Air Max 95

Why are Air Max 95s widley collected and highly liked. How did the become so popular. They are hideous to me. It looks as if no thought went into the style of the shoe. I really dig the AM90s and the AM1s, but I don't see the appeal of them.

Yeah kinda agree, they look a bit cheap and ugly to me, though that colourway is pretty bad compared to the scream greens which look cool.

dope shoe. am95s were a cult classic from the start. it's reign didn't end after 95 and the japanese began hordeing all the OG 95s. it was literally the "dunk" between 95-98. nike caught wind and began retroing 95s beginning late 97 under the air max 95 sc (sports classic) moniker. they slowly made minor changes by omitting the psi markings, insole colors, and airmax tongue tag design until you had the retro 95 that you see in stores today.

btw, plenty of thought went into the shoe's design. it's supposed to resemble a ribcage and was designed by one of nike's top designers: sergio lozano.

the 95 are over rated. i think that they are super ugly myself. go for the 90's. they are fucking classics!!!!!!

i agree that some of the colorways are kinda hideous, but the og colorways (screaming green, safety orange, chili red, and blue) are classics. plus, they are the most comfortable pair of nikes that i own.

I agree that it’s an acquired taste, because those you posted are not good, but I would stomp on some family members to get a pair of the grey and reds. So, to each his own.

cannot deny the airmax 95s

but the 180s are cool

just got my second pair, in the same colour

white and pink

got the first pair in a second hand market about 16yrs ago for 3GBP

original neon green / screamin green 95s are absolute classics, one of nikes best designed modern sneakers.

However, one of their worst built - both pairs I had started to squeak really bad after about 6 months, and this was the same for everyone else I knew with a pair. Apparently nike would issue replacements on request, but did not fix the problem.

Still got to love em though.
