1952 101z Rigid Washing.

Anyone have experience washing these jeans? I just got mine in a 30x33 and they fit alittle bigger than I would like. I heard that they will shrink but they are sanforized so this doesn't seem to make sense. Anyway should I cold wash them and let them hang dry or does someone have a better idea? I need to lose alittle in the waist and thigh and alot in the length...but that part isn't my biggest concern as I can cuff them or have them hemmed.

I had the early euro reissues, whihc were in a sanforized fabric from Nisshinbo, which could - I am only guessing - be very similar to that on your jeans. I know they shrank, but it's impossible to know how much, because that would depend on how they were sized in the first place, but from the cuff-marks, I would guess around an inch and a half on the length. Traditionally, sanforized denim is supposed to shrink a maximum of 3 %, so I wouldn't count on getting more than that.

i soaked them last night inside out for an hour in lukewarm water and they shrank down to a perfect fit...about 1 waist size and 2 inches off the inseam. they lost very little color to almost no color and some starch which is why i would guess the water was brown. thanks.

when soaking raw denim, how much does it usually shrink in the thigh area? right now my edwins are a little loose in the thigh. the label says it will shrink 1.5" in the waist and 3" inseam after wash. whats your opinion? thanks in advance
