Can one wear boots with skinny jeans?

Well, winter is almost upon us. I have recently splurged on some Dior skinny jeans - 19". My sartorial dilemma is this - can one wear boots with skinny jeans? If so, how high can those boots be? Not tucked in obviously! I don't want to wear converse in the winter or trainers - so what should I pop on my feet supershopper people?

How about Frye boots? Ridiculous with anything other than bootcut jeans?

I don't like those boots for wear with your jeans. go Dior style and wear some pointy-ish black boots, like a chelsea boot.

The Chelsea boots are a good call.

Cowboy boots work if you want that look. I personally don't.

I wear Fluevog boots in winter with skinny jeans but it does have a somewhat Frankensteinish aspect. Matches the bolts in my neck, so I like it.

I think a classic motorcycle boot like Chippewa can work, too.

I wear my boots with the jeans tucked in sometimes, as long as they are not uggs i think it's fine. My favourite this winter were CoSTUME NATIONAL, painted suede lace ups. They also did some nice motorcycle boots, Bikkemberg did some motorcycle boots as well.
