club photography/party pics

I'm going to be shooting a few clubs in my area as a favor for a friend, I was wondering if anybody here has any tips/advice as far as settings, attitude, etc. I have a canon xti w/430ex speedlight. The clubs are also very upscale & swanky, unfortunately not really my cup of tea. Thanks a bunch.

take as many picture as possible no matter what even the type of pictures you wouldn't take on a regular basis

avoid direct flash, if you have a stofen use it. if you dont, you can use your hand to bounce.

Try long exposures using a flash, i.e., having exposure set to 1" with a 1/60 flash. In a room with a lot of ambient lights/point sources it gives a really cool photo.

ummm first tip is ask girls to show tits. second, post on sufu.

oh also put your flash on rear curtain sync. itll help keep things sharp as possible.

Diz. I know there are a lot of club photographer sites out there, last night's party is one that uses this technique often, and it gives some cool effects. Um, also, don't use a fisheye on chicks, it makes them looks fat and then leave you nasty voicemail the next day when you post their photos.
