i found a pair of Gokey boots a while back... the leather is nice, very worn but VERY nice, hand made... the thing is they have a crepe sole which is getting very soft at the toe. normaly i would just throw them out, but ive never had boots like this, and it would be at least 300 dollars(us) to get anything semi comperable. does anyone know about putting new crepe soles on boots, can it be done? How much should it cost?

Whether or not they can be resoled depends on the construction of the boots. Chances are they can't, because these days very few manufacturers go to the additional expense of sewing in a welt to allow resoling. That said, I've definitely seen crepe soled shoes with welted construction and I believe Vibram does a hard-wearing crepe sole. Bring the shoes to a store where they do repairs and see if they can do anything.
