35mm scans on a cheap flat bed like that aren't going to come out that great. You'd get better results with a 35mm specific scanner though those are expensive. You're really better off sending it to a place that'll scan it for you.

flat bed scanners can do an okay job if you test them out and maximize there capability. check http://popphoto.com they aloways post shit about scanners. they had one recently that was under $200 and it was pretty good, i've used it. i can't remember wha tis its now and i dont' feel like looking it up but its there somewhere
