Number (N)ine? Tell me a bit.

Can you guys give me a bit of info about this company? Are any of you real fans of it? Style? Fit? Style for the price?

The boutique here in NYC is about 2 blocks from my work but I haven't been able to make it there yet. Keep in mind I am a Dior Homme whore and any comparison to style and fit would be appreciated. I have no knowledge of Number (N)ine.

Is it worth checking out and should I be ready to spend when I do?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I do work about two blocks away. I work from about 9 in the morning to typically about 10 to 11 at night. That is the hard facts about advertising/marketing in NYC. My clients own me. As I said I have been trying to make it to the store for a few weeks and haven't been able to. My time is money and I have very little time.

So I am basically asking a comparison to a brand that is very well known and if it is worth my time to go there. If not I don't want to bother.

The internet was created to receive and gain information. The problem with the internet isn't seeking out information it is people with no information that feel it is their business to give none.

Number (N)ine, compared to Dior I would say is a bit less polished, more experimental and goes further/more literal with its references to rock culture sometimes. They do have some great ideas and good tailoring every now and then, but this season (to me at least) is a complete joke. It's basically thrift store quality clothing going for couture prices. $500 fleece checkered shirts and logo'd shetland sweaters? I'll pass. The blazers look pretty nice though, they seem slim enough and are about a grand cheaper than one from Dior.

Number (N)ine to me is like the trashier rock and roll look. A lot of dark pieces but not goth at all. If I had the money I would definitely buy some of their stuff. Their clothes are soft and not worn out looking, boots aren't that bad. Agree that the staff are very cool and helpful. The design of the store itself is nice.

do you work at saatchi?

number nine is crazy expensive - even more than cloak. a very rockstar aesthetic - they recently started clothing U2 and a few others. this seasons "concept" is THE HIGH STREET band, which is actually the guys real band in Japan. super quality fabrics, intelligent designs.. my personal fav right now is the hoodie with the fender logo, that in fact says number 9. just go on you lunch break man.

dig.
