Brooks Brothers Slim vs Polo Custom Fit

Recommended Posts

My new job requires business casual attire.

I have to replace my spread collar dress shirts with something that can be worn sans tie.

I really like the way that the Polo Custom Fit button downs sit off the rack, but I'm not feeling the little jocky on my chest.

Unfortunately, Brooks Brothers isn't available locally.

How do their slim fit sport shirts compare?

Can the Brooks Brothers dress shirts be worn with an open collar? It's hard to tell from their online photos.

BB's slim shirts are still pretty large. definitely not a "fitted" shirt.

if you have the extra cash, i'd go for a BB Black Fleece oxford (Thom Browne capsule collection). they're $150usd a piece (reg BB shirts are $80). you can wear it with anything, the fit is sex.

I called up the Fifth Avenue store and had them measure a couple up for me.

I'm a 16" neck (Clopek), 42" chest and 34" waist.

The 16 1/2 is slightly slimmer then the Large Polo Custom Fit. 23 3/4" pit to pit. The same demensions as a slim fit Herringbone XL, which I normally wear, but 1/3 the price.

The 16 is 1 1/2" slimmer through the chest. Sounds pretty good to me.
