I'm gonna be up in the city this weekend (in Friday night/out monday night) for some general muck runnin. What's goin on this weekend? I still gotta find somewhere to stay sat & sun night too. I'm shootin for hostel prices. Any1? Bueller? Thx

What do you want in a hostel? All three Hostelling International hostels are very clean and safe. I have had happy times at all of them. The one in Fort Mason has a beautiful location, but it is sort of a 'quiet' hostel. The one near Union Square has a convenient location; it's close to BART and all those stores. The one in Civic Center is the nicest inside... but if you are bothered by crackheads I wouldn't stay in that neighborhood. I personally believe that it's safe there, but visitors to SF can be a bit freaked out by the people they run into on the street. There is no alcohol allowed in the HI hostels, if that makes a difference to you. I spent one night at Elements Hostel and there was one really really creepy guy (seriously disturbing), and a revolting bathroom, which says a lot coming from me; I am the opposite of a clean freak. That is all I remember. Oh and they had bad wifi. I think others have had better experiences there, but I will never get over that stay and I think the place is horrible. The Adelaide Hostel has a fairly convenient location, and the place is nice, clean, and friendly. They are remodeling at the moment, but it's no big deal really. It has the b i z z y seal of approval.

I'm lookin for a decent 1 i don't end up havin to cut some1 at haha. On the cheaper side is good. I don't know how much time I'll actually spend there anyway. Thanks for the info

well that was interesting .ended up stayin at a hostel in union square saturday night & I was pretty much dicriminated against for being an american. they changed my room & said "let's try 1 night" I was originally gonna stay there 2. oh well it served its pourpose
