Removing Quilted lining from M65?

so i just recently bought an m65 from yesstyle and i love the styling and fit, but the only problem is that it has some quilted lining on the inside that makes it a bit puffy, feels like im wearing a fat suit and the shoulder look padded because of it...im thinking about taking it to the tailor and removing the padding... anyone ever done such a operation? although it is warm and would def be handy during winter, i live in socal, so its not particularly necessary...just wondeirng if it will turn out odd...thanks!
