Is using Rapidshare, Megaupload etc etc. Risky???

I wouldn't stress. Millions of users pass through rapidshare so you can imainge how large their IP log must be that's if they keep a log at all. And the RIAA or whoever would sue for example rapidshare before they come after the end user like yourself because the files are been hosted on rapidshare servers. And sueing rapidshare wouldn't be easy because they're based outside of the US.

Now if the FBI is running one of these host sites than we're all in big trouble. I remember the FBI ran a scene group with FTP sites and they busted like 20 people worldwide.

The only risk is for the file you upload that may be somehow visible or findable. But as for download, no risk at all. I download more than 2gb (legal dl and not) per week on those sites, and the feds didn't knock at my door yet.
