Have only planned the demo for the latest one. Gave myself the challenge of bettering mcclaren before xmas ... beat the germans, beat the russians; everything else was a formality.

Was just getting into 07 when my laptop broke. Things are getting just that little too in depth now ... training is something that I think just bogs down the game ... you find out what someone else is doing then copy it to the t.

The first version I ever played (97/98 I think) is still the best I think ... the most enjoyable I can remeber anyway ... no 'match engine', no reverses, no u-18s etc etc.

i guess the u-18s, training, scouting, hiring of coaches and all the different dimensions gives the game a slightly longer playing life though.

I'm still playing 07, and im in my 21st season with walsall. nurturing the young potentials and turning them into superstars is probably one of the things that've kept me going. its addictive.

That's slightly legendary ... I heard if you play if for long enough they name a stadium after you and then eventually after so many seasons you have to retire.

I sorta loose interest when the real players I wanna sign get too and retire or have pathetic stats. The game isn't designed to allow for odd player how can keep playing at the top level for years and years (see del piero, figo, and the like) so their stats just get obliterated after they pass 30-odd.

I remember buying Xabi Alonso from the 'pool for £83 million for Chelsea in my first season ... Ambrovich wanted high profile signings so I gave him one ... then promptly quit the game when he averaged 6.72 or some shit.

Best big buy ever ... Emile Mpenza for £38 million to Celta Vigo (CM 01-02 I think) ... absolute goal machine.
