nice stuff. I love the tooling. corter I like the bigger one.

here are some pouches I made from the elk. I had been saving the hide for about a year and using it for general luxury. I would sleep on it when I went camping. I wraped it around my car seat for a while. Reading in front of the wood stove. whatever. I used it for a lot of different things and it was great. but then i cut it up to make the pineapple carrier. Elk is a really awesome leather to work with.

I've been making some more card cases lately. It just occurred to me that I can also make them in black with black stitching...

Here's a photo of the new one (top) next to mine, which has about a year's use on it.

New scrap wallet! I was interested in seeing what I could do with distressing leather. not so much tears and scrapes as coloring, making the piece tell a story I guess. So this is a completely random wallet I've been working on here and there with scrap. The green will fade down to an almost military green with use, something I couldn't replicate on my own. I did have a hell of a time figuring out how to ripple and darken the leather (the shell was done before the wallet was constructed, so getting the rippling right was hard!) as everything was natural and pretty flawless before I touched it. I know it's not for everyone, but I really kinda like it and I'm totally going to do more like this in the future.

never had any problems with snaps breaking. I just had a problem with faulty snaps, the metal was way too soft and they wouldn't set right, but i got it fixed. pretty good for using the same brand for over 2 years. I use line 20's and 24's i believe, but with the conchos on top. they're industrial snaps, the only problem i've ever seen is a friend of mine who wore her bracelet swimming in the ocean for like 2 weeks straight. the salt rusted it a bit, but it basically looks awesome now and after some wd40 still works perfect.

Mr. Black: pm me, i don't think it's appropriate to have any business in this wonderful thread!

I would guess about 20 sqft, which would make for one pricey hoody.

I just bought a 6 sqft shoulder, and am trying to decide what to make. I have a new card case design in mind for my smaller pieces.

Amazing work everyone. Very inspirational. This is something I just made recently. I adapted a moccassin pattern bought from Tandy Leather. Vintage heavy leather jacket. Used the shoulder pads for the heel cushion. Leather midsole, vibram rubber sole.

i made a cardholder for my girlfriend for when she's going out and doesn't feel like using her clutch. i wanted to do something a little different, so i used the hole puncher i got for the dior belt i made. a nice touch, also, was the use of gum tragacanth (used for finishing edges) on the suede side of the leather to make it smooth since, being a simple cardholder, that part is exposed. the orange-y color is without flash, the true color is with flash.

edit: thanks hews and corter for the props on the belt!

Great work. May I ask where you got the leather? Thx

is the wallet pulling apart outside the stitching at the bottom right corner in the middle pic?

no, it must just be the picture. the indigo stained the edges of the leather super fast, so maybe it just looks weird. the leather is holding up greats so far though
