books on fashion design and execution/sewing etc

I have some ideas for a small line of jackets I'd like to work on or really just make for myself. can any one offer me some good book titles that show how to take a basic drawing of a garment and turn it into a reality?

It's gonna take some work, especially if you've never done it before. For men's garments, I personally love "Metric patterncutting for menswear" by Auldrich. It's european, and might be a little hard to find you can get it on the internet.

I'd also recommend getting "The readers digest guide to sewing". It's basically the only sewing book you'll ever need.

If you're looking to do a small line/start your own company, I'd also suggest you getting "The fashion designers survival guide". it discusses starting up, production, shipment...etc. and interviews pretty much everyone important (zac posen, proenza, doori..etc)
