Sugar Cane sizing help

Hi all. I've been thinking of getting a pair of the Sugar Cane 1947 jeans, but I'm having a tough time trying to figure out if I should get either a 30 or 31 in waist. I've read through the many many posts and found that the jeans shrink to the size labeled on the jeans. Because of this people suggested I get my true size.

Pretty much I either wear a 30 or a 31 depending on the cut of the jeans, how comfortable they are when worn, and how they look. I tried on a pair of some 501 preshrunk jeans in size 30 at the Levi's store in SF, and they fit pretty snug. The size 32 looked way too big, so I'm thinking of the size 31 (which the store didn't have to try on) because I like jeans a little looser. How similar are the preshunk 501s I tried on compared to the 1947?

Would the 1947 look best if I get the size that are snug and just the right size? Or would they look ok if I got them a bit looser? Thanks in advance!

the way it works is that you give the size that you wear now. then they provide the jeans (raw or one wash) that will result in that size.

Yes... I'm aware of that. But the problem is that I either wear a size 30 or 31 depending on the type of jeans. 31 would be a bit looser and 30 would be snug. I'm afraid if I go for the looser 31 they would look bad, but also afraid that 30 would be too tight and won't allow for me to get bigger in the next year. icon_smile_big.gif
