Evisu store in Soho not happening

I work close to that spot on Greene St. Construction stalled on that place many months ago, and then just this week, they replaced the Evisu wallpaper covering the windows with some new "for rent" signs.

Judging from the lady who just opened up the Cotelac store next door, those buildings had to deal with some unruly construction issues. I'm guessing it proved to be too much for Evisu to deal with. Too bad.

And we care...why?

that may be a possibility... let me see what i can find out about that.

the hand painting was gonna be done there anyways, since the evisu store was never gonna carry the made in japan jeans. those have always been planned to be a blue in green exclusive outside of japan.

has BiG figured out they are no longer entitled to charge 8.375% sales tax yet?

I got pwn3d at nom de guerre last week. After I got home, I realized it said 8.375 tax on the receipt. I made a semi-large purchase there so I lost like 20 bucks.

20 bucks i could have spent on sexxxy time

i totally want some hand painted gulls

how much are those going to run?

i think they can paint all sorts of shit. japanese kanjis like 戒, 楽

it just depends on how much you are williing to pay. also, it depends on the color.

i remember that some colors like pink were more expensive than white.

Evisu store not opening isn't so bad afterall.. I'm kind of glad actually! Everyone will be able to buy them at the store where masses of people would be walking in and out reducing their exclusiveness and increasing popularity(hehe.. i thought for a second if thats even possible!). But then again, the masses will probably gain knowledge from seeing authentic evisus. I guess all in all it's bad that they're not opening but hey, at least theres a positive side to it.

Wait, so there's no sales tax on clothes on clothing in NYC now or is it just items under $120?

From BiG's website:

"...there is no longer New York City sales tax imposed on the purchase of clothing and footwear regardless of the amount. The current total sales tax is 4.375%, down from 8.375%, for all clothing and footwear. Sales tax only applies to New York residents online and any purchases made in store."

I had to read that statement twice over the first time I read it on the BiG website. I thought it contradicted itself, but its only for NYC residents.

def. kinda sucks about the evisu store I just wanted to see the variety of stuff they were gonna offer in there.

How are they gonna know that you are from NYC? What are they gonna do ask for ID or your address?
