This is all speculative, but...

It would be pretty lame if this forum's sponsors got Hide's thread shut down because he's offering to serve as a proxy for the same products they carry.

As I understood it, this forum was supposed to facilitate consumption. Hide is making it easier for all of us to acquire hard to get items. If that means the products are cheaper through Hide than through this forum's sponsors, perhaps said sponsors should adjust their business practices.

I could understand shutting him down if he was directly advertising for certain companies, but he's not (unlike some others on this forum).

Perhaps a Mod/Admin could explain what the story behind all this is to alleviate confusion and prevent accusations.

And it's unfortunate that Hide's thread got shut down. Did the other proxy threads get shut down too?

I guess enough people know about Sharp-Service now anyway, so it doesn't matter that much.

You know a mod shutting down a thread and then passwording it without some sort of notice was stupid. You should have locked the thread and given notice of why instead of people throwing speculation around, plus it gives the person in this case Hide a negative aspect because people are always going to assume the worst.
