Moving to Tokyo, around Sophia Univ.

Hi there, I am moving to Tokyo nx month, ofcourse to, Sophia. I have been to Japan fo a few times but I have no clue where Sopia is actually located. Need some advice on apartment. Also, I like to be in the shopping area as well as clubs or any kind of entertainment complex!! Cheers.

try checking the Sophia website at http://www.sophia.ac.jp/E/E_universityinfo.nsf/Content/ichigaya_map. I'm assuming you'll be attending the Ichigaya International Campus, if so, it's not that far from the Shinjuku area. but, if you're looking to live in an area with lots of shops then you'll probably want Harajuku or Shibuya, both will probably be more expensive. as for as apartment hunting goes, I'm not sure I can help you. most students arrange for this particular accomodation before arriving in Japan, either through the school or through personal contacts. you could always check http://metropolis.japantoday.com/default.asp site and check for ads, someone might have something available for you and at a reasonable price.
