what about now? will be in amsterdam over new years as well, but don't really know the scene. we have some good advice regarding food, and coffeshops, but i'm in the dark about clubs or parties. we're more interested in good music for dancing, than superclubs, or whatnot.

I would avoid the last two for the life of me, but to each his own. Then there's the obvious clubs. I would avoid those too, except for Bitterzoet and a few others.

). The locals prefer the more spontaneous get-together on Nieuwmarkt. The roof of the NEMO museum is open for the public around midnight and offers a very nice view over the city to watch all the fireworks.

just stay away from the new market if you have any sense at all. or, if your tripping, and feel the fear and loathing vibe, go for it. just make sure to wear eyeglasses, cause it gets like a fucking WAR ZONE with bottle rockets and firecrackers. right up in your face, "close enough to feel their last breath"
