Garment steamers

Hey guys I'm pretty sick of ironing my shirts. I recently seen an informercial on the Tobi which is a garment steamer, seems pretty useful. Anyways, do you guys use a garment steamer at home? and if so which brands do you recommend and where can I get one?

The Tobi is garbage. There is only one out there that I recommend. Jiffy steamers are tough as nails and are the same ones that clothing stores use.

I have one, i forgot what brand it was. Not tobi though. It works okay, i still think ironing is better. I like steaming b/c it gets out the smells of sweaters. But I think with ironing you get that crisp look and does a better job. Either that or my steamer really sucks.

i don't remember what brand it is i've got at home, but in general a steamer is great especially if you're a klutz like i am. hardly any chance you'd ever wreck even delicate garments with it. and it's also a lot less tiring and faster to use than conventional irons once you get the hang of it.

that said, it is true that it's hard to get the same crisp pressed look as you would with an iron.

I've got one at home, but I don't remember the brand. My mom likes using it for delicate, light material articles; my dad uses it for his suites. You can't get a really good pressed look, but things do come out cleaner (and less smelly). I personally have used it on my jeans instead of washing. Gets the smell out without the indigo loss
