Warehouse Denim Contest [pics and discussion]

Blah. Was thinking I'd go with these for awhile before doing any "preventive reinforcements" to the crotch, but only after 2 weeks, looks like I'm going to have to find some time to get on it this weekend.

Actually no damage yet, but the stitching in the crotch area is stretching more than I'd like, combined w/ all the earlier reports, and I'm not sure they'll stay intact for more than a month w/o some extra cotton re-bar.

Other than that, great jeans so far.

Niiice.

I gotta figure out how to take better pics of 'em. Whenver I take 'em in the sun they get too bright, indoors, too dark. Gotta find the right place/settings to get the best pics.

Well, Chicken has some help when taking pictures. He posted some professional photography light umbrella whatchamacallit (?) a little while ago.

I am in no way discrediting his progress so far. Everyone, keep you panties out of a bunch.

thanks guys. it's such a fun process

was ist los? -- two hot soaks so far. i think they're starting to get a little funky.

Fookums -- i think i know what you mean. i find photographing blue jeans very difficult. they look so different depending on the light. and speaking of...

Denim Phenom -- heh, i'm not professional, but i did buy a tungsten light thing when i was in new york. my day job makes it practically impossible for me to shoot things in natural light, so i tried out some indoor lighting. the big umbrella thing you're talking about, i had to return that and get it exchanged for something that took up less space. that was a bit too much for me since i don't have a lot of space.

i think the tungsten light works pretty well, but it still can't beat natural light. check out sidney's jeans shots. i believe almost all of them are shot outside and i don't think i'm matching that. (plus, his lens are far superior. makes me want to by an SLR.)

and fre$co, nice indy/warehouse combo. i'm sure in 50 days your jeans will be looking more dramatic, too.

that last picture you took chicken looks like some sort of abstract sea of indigo waves!

on a seperate note...

Buy an SLR!!! even just an entry level one! you'll never regret it and the photos always look amazing even if your not that handy with a camera. I'm far from pro material but my Nikon makes all the pictures i take look effortless.

^i 100% agree.

i went from a high end point and shoot to a entry level SLR (nikon d40) and the difference was truly amazing.

i knew very little about photography other than what looked good to me and i still took some awesome photos.

o btw.

The crotch blew in my warehousexBiGxSUFU 660s again

after it has been reinforced.

dang

100% cotton thread is great for the aesthetic and that is it. lol

i actually own two slr film cameras. they're worth very little now. (doh.)

i guess what i meant was i wanted a dslr. i'm too lazy and cheep to keep buying films and getting them developed now. and not serious enough to buy a medium or large format camera, either.

rome, which model do you have?

thug, sorry to hear about your crotch.

missing my CONTAX T2...

it's not slr but always gave me fantastic results more than I expected.

but at that time I had not much money to buy and scan films.. sell them after all

now contax quit to make T2 anymore... I should not have sold it... OTL

I'm using sony digital camera T20 these days.

both T2 and T20 using carl zeiss lens, also have similar names.

but a big difference in photos. T20 never win T2 ...
