Shrinkage on Earnest Sewn...

So I was helping my wife find a new pair of jeans, and lately I've only felt the dry denim or dark washes, so I steered her towards a pair of Earnest Sewn Hefner in the Maz Dark 3D. It's technically not a dry denim since the manufacturing information on the inside shows that it was "wet processed", but it strikes me as being fairly unwashed.

The jeans need to be altered, but I wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experience with the shrinkage of Earnest Sewns. Should we expect 3-5% shrinkage in length or more? These jeans are 100% cotton, so I'd imagine they'll shrink more than jeans with some form of elastane in them.

I'm leaning towards cold washing them and hang drying them off the bat then getting them altered.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
