35 mm Film Camera

I need one, just for casual photography and this class i'm taking. Don't need anything insanely great, just a nice beginner one, don't really wanna spend more than like $150. I'm thinking mainly of the Canon AE1 can anyone suggest something?

The Canon Elan 7e is a great camera. Check eBay for deals. I paid $160 for camera + battery grip + shutter release cable + wireless remote.

Not the best you can get now or anything. But my Nikon EM(SLR) and Yashica Electro 35 GSN(Rangefinder) are fun and I'm getting the shots I want/expect.

Paid $50 and $10, respectively.

The AE-1 is a great camera, especially for someone just starting out. Elans and other newer Canons aren't bad either, but AE-1's are super rugged and also let you get familar with manual controls. Check out Craigslist, I always see them on there with good lenses for around $100.

canonet rangefinder- $40

ae-1's are nice, but overpriced online. plus, an old film camera's an old film camera for all intents and purposes, they all tend to come with decent fast primes for cheap. don't be afraid to venture outside of canon, any old pentax or nikon will do the trick as well.

I would recommend a Canon FTb. They're manual tanks and you can pick one up on e-bay for usually around $120 with lens.
