20,000 yen - so 10,000 a head - qualifies as expensive to me...am I a cheapskate?

Yes, you're a tight fisted bastard. Relatively speaking this is NOT expensive for a significant others Bday, but dont tell your girl that when you guys roll up at El Torito or some miserable shit like that.

Anyway, it seems I was mistaken about an Eng version of gurunavi, but depending on how your Japanese is this might help. If you can recognize the kanji for places I think it might.

BTW, is your girl JPNEEZ? Or no? Just curious as it might afftect restaurant choice. My girl's Bday is coming so I have to do this too, Ill see what I can come up with, let me know what kind of food she likes/what youre lookin for.

After conducting an exhaustive search of both "balling restaurants tokyo" and "restaurants with a view tokyo" or some shit like that, I have 2 candidates.

Seriously, with a birds eye view of tokyo at night they could be serving pre-made bento boxes and you'll still need a rag to keep that vag from getting everything wet.

Picking a top floor restaurant like this is corny as fuck in my mind, but if it doesn't get you the panties on the floor you're probably in a wheelchair.

But seriously I'm like 14 what the fuck would I know.

This is a cool place: http://r.gnavi.co.jp/fl/en/g775401/index.htm

Its a tofu restaurant, so you have to like tofu and they have pretty small serves (but its Japan, what do you expect) BUT its really really good.

The restaurant is pretty cool too. Its on a funky street on the way from Shibuya to Daikanyama- you walk in through a white pebbled corridor with a fountain and then get seated in little glasswalled tatami booths. Very minimal modern/traditional.

I took out of town visitros there and hey loved it. not so expensive either. Its called 豆腐料理 空ノ庭 "Soranoniwa."

Yes. Nothing spells corny deseparate gaijin than choosing the top floor restaurant at the grand hyatt. But seriously, you only gonna drop 10,000 yen each for her B-day? You can't manage to save a little bit more to go someplace decent?

"restaurants with a view tokyo"

Don't know what the food is like, but Opera City has a few restuarants with awesome views. it's at Hatsudai, very close the Shinjuku. There is a massive grand piano there so if you got skills, jump on and play her a song.
