Denim and Bikes

How many people actually ride their bikes with denim on, I mean like fresh denim. Cause I am kinda scared that they are going to stretch out alot because of the pedaling. Is this a possibilty that they will strecth out alot and then fit incorrectly?

the trick is to take off the jeans before getting on the bike. I like to hang it over the handlebars to air the ass out.

They stretch where you pull on them when biking. I wear all my jeans biking. Thin fabric designery jeans dying inside of a month was what motivated me to find good jeans in the first place. They will stretch, but they stretch where you need them to.

One note, the Flat Head S5003s I lost (stupid) had a seat outline fade right on the middle of the ass after less than 300 miles of biking. That was a bit odd. It also hasn't happened with any of my other jeans.

Thats pretty interesting with the bike seat outline. Okay they will stretch out doofy and all cause I bought my a bit smaller cause i like how tight jeans fade. Now with all the stretching will it drastically change the fading?

I ride year round and only wear good denim (lately, KMW Rockers). As mentioned the stretch is appropriate to the use pattern, so it isn't really any more of an issue than it would otherwise be. As for fade, yeah you will get a severe ass fade if you ride hard, but riding puts more overall stress on your jeans than walking, which means more wear, more fade, mo' betta. Just be careful because the crotch takes the brunt of the added wear; you'd be surprised how quickly you can rub through 14 ounces when you ride every day--so make sure they fit, and always go selvage.

i wish i had a bike so i can get some crazy wear on my denim.

i'm pretty sure i've heard people saying the way they get their fading is through heavy bike riding, so i don't know how you could consider it a bad thing

The only jeans i've notices that are barely affected by riding is Iron Heart's denim.

Probably because they're so heavy and take so long to fade...

I picked up some 1634s from you guys hoping the ridiculous weight would be a little more sturdy than my other denim. Eagerly awaiting the "bike" jean to hammer on that for a while. Wish the temp would drop under 100 here or the humidity under 80 though.
