A lot of shit evolves because refrigeration isn't as common as it is in the US. In Vietnam practically everyone drinks Heineken or other beers over ice, because nobody stores bottles of beer in a refrigerator. Once you've gotten past the gateway (ice), you are liable to try mixing beer with anything...salt, soy sauce, tabasco, whatever
