Women's shoes!

Hello everyone. I would like some advice and links to learning about women's shoes, what's in style, and what's currently hot. I ask because, even though I am an artist, and am intertested in fashion, I really only pay attention to what I can incorporate into my style. But I need to find out, because I have started working part time selling women's shoes here in the Bay Area of cali while going to college. It's a department store that carries a lot of good brands.

I'm curious to hear from the ladies what do they look for when shopping for shoes, what they would like to be asked, etc. basically how would the perfect salesperson interact with you?

And for anyone who happens to sell shoes, please share some advice!
