Anyone who knows Japanese can help me here?

Whats the japanese translation for wool? Wanted buy

an item online, I've asked for the material...

the store got back to me mentioning it's labeled as being made of

"animal hair" in Japanese. I'm not sure what the hell that is,

but I think it's a misleading translation for wool

Can someone confirm this?

Nah. It's an underground industry secret that any thing labeled under "animal hair" in japanese textiles are just re-processed left-over/fallen pubes from the massive amounts of porno shoots they do over there.

It's pretty amazing how they do it though, b/c it'll feel like genuine, premium wool fibers, until the 1 year mark, when the processing starts to wear off, and the fibers start to lapse back to that good ol' curl and gets itchy. Serious, you read right.

Don't let them tell you any different and try to fool you, thinking you're a gullible gaijin, they're being vague with you for a reason, you know? (^_-)

Wool can be listed a couple of ways on Japanese tags. I'm not sure exactly how it's done, but it usually looks something like this: 毛製, pronounced "mousei". That first character, 毛, means hair, which is why there could be confusion in the translation. You can also see it sometimes as ウール, which is katakana for wool.

Well, I understand that, but what else could animal hair be? I dunno, to me it just seems obvious.

As for beast, I won't even bother replying, somebody who posts 6 times within an hour insulting me and my family, after my one remark, clearly doesn't warrant anymore attention from me.
