what i did :

Took my old unused cheap skinny jeans/cords/etc that are quite tapered,

took them to the tailor, specified my length

voila. Instand Shorts that I love.

usually for the summer i just rock american eagle 30 dollar camo shorts when i do decide to wear them. umm g-star has some decent ones, modern amusement had some interesting reversible board shorts that i saw.

but lucas is right, just take some old khakis or cords or jeans whatever and cut em off into shorts!

Swim trunks, I'm looking for semi-high not to high to show of my pale-ness, corpus has a very nice cut for their shorts, but a bit expensive. Anyone had experiences with american apparel swim trunks? (Taffeta Swim Trunks/ Board shorts)
