I just washed them.. that white soap water turned brownish yellow :0 hang drying now.

nope, no dye came off, just dirt and grime! they were still a little damp this morning so they are still hanging in my bathroom right now. i'll take some pics of the progress on the jeans after work today. i'll start wearing them this weekend!

I've had indigo come off before and stain the tub. It came off easily with some Bronners and scrubbing.

I dropped by my house during my lunch break yesterday and saw that the flatheads were dry from the wash, so i snapped some quick pics of how they're lookin after 11 wearers. definitely some interesting fading going on in the top block. also, did anyone use some sort of conditioner on the leather patch? its hella softer than the patches on my other jeans

the crotch also looks like its about to blow out :eek:

and heres the skull belt. was this belt originally tan?? its pretty dark now..

i wore them to lunch and for the rest of my work day. i went to the japantown in san jose to get some lunch at a little restaurant called Gombei.

that thing goes mad fast, hella fun busting jumps on the hills, except i hit my head on one of the bars because i wasnt wearing my seatbelt hahaha

last night went to eat dinner at california's classic In-n-Out Burger. i usually dont eat fast food but once in a while its okay, cuz when you dont eat it for a long time, you forget how good it is

oh yeah, before we left to go eat, we had this for appetizer

what we ordered:

the animal style fries (fries topped with cheese, sauteed onions, and thousand island) was pretty good.

double double, so good... a tiny bit of sauce dripped onto the flatheads but i wiped it off. later on i was reading the flathead journal, and i saw that mrip also wore these to in-n-out once and dripped sauce onto the jeans. what does a vegetarian get at in-n-out?

Tuesday night i went out for dinner with ppl from work to an Italian restaurant in downtown San Jose called Il Fornaio. i didnt bring my camera but i found this pic off the internet:

there was 13 of us there and we had a private dining room behind the kitchen. the food was great, i would name all the things i ate but it would be worthless without pics... sorry no pics!

yesterday (wednesday) after work i grabbed a quick dinner at this taqueria near my house, called La Costa.

the taqueria is entirely outdoors, you order from a window and eat on a table on the patio or under the veranda

Il Fornaio is really good. I went for the first time and they gave us the "Table of Honour" since me and my girlfriends were first timers there. It was awesome, free food, drinks and dessert. I'd recommend the butternut squash ravioli(or something along those lines).

sunday, put the flatheads on and went to the San Francisco Zoo

peacocks walk around by themselves all over the zoo.

after i left the insect room, i scared the kids away on the rope web

so... i realized i've had these jeans for a little over a month now, so my term should be over. but i'm flying to China tomorrow and will be traveling around different parts of outer China for one week, near Tibet, Mongolia, and Xinjiang (chinese turkistan). I will be visiting two of the poorest provinces in China, so i'll have opportunities to take some very interesting photos....

if no one objects, i would like to bring the Flatheads with me on my trip. does anyone mind?
