recommend me a new camera

i'm looking to buy a new camera, my 3.1 megapixel bullshit just isn't doing it for me anymore

can anyone lead me in the direction of any good photography forums? or electronics forums that have photography sections?

or could you just plain recommend me a good 10 or 8.1 MP camera that won't run me any more than $500 canadian dollars?
