im trying to upload a video onto youtube but its over 100 MB. how do i compress it?

There should be a free version of divx with less features.

I don't know why it won't accept divx for you since it has always worked for me. What error does it give you? Probably download the divx codec (the free one) and reinstall it then try it again. You can also try this... it is predecessor or something of nandub and maybe it will work.

lol virtualdub is the predecessor of nandub. funneh. nandub is a mod of vdub. anyway you can use xvid to encode your video if you want. it's sometimes not as efficient as divx, though. x264 is a very efficient codec. i'm guessing that you're compressing an mpeg video? if so you could just use vdub to slice it into two parts. also, if you're doing mpeg like i think then you can just use tmpgenc to encode it. good and ghetto encoder that does it's job if you have the right codecs.

use vdub and compress with XviD
