Silas continuing in Japan?

Has anyone in Japan seen or heard anything about Silas' s/s 07 collection? My understanding was that Silas was going to continue in Japan, but haven't seen anything on the usual hype or Japanese web sites, and nothing new on Silas' either...Anyone know the story?

Yeah man, I heard the smae thing. I thought that Union was going to carry Silas's final UK line, but it never came in.

I think both russell and sophia have moved on, the collections from the last few years have been rather weak so I guess it makes sense. I'm gonna miss them though, there's no other brand out there quite like it.

Can't see anyone doing it in the U.K. especially now the original designers have moved on. As a replacement graphically Alakazam reminds me a lot of the best Silas stuff.

The graphical stuff I can take or leave since, although I loved it, was also done by a few other companies just as well.

I just really liked their shirts, shoes and coats.

I spoke with James Jarvis (who is close friends with the people running things at Silas, and if you remember he designed some graphics for them in seasons past). He said that the crew at Silas and Maria were "dissatisfied" (he didn't say that word explicitly, but he implied it) at the way fashion is going right now. They didn't want to keep up anymore so they decided to pretty much quit while they were ahead. I'm sure there is more, but that is the gist of it.

i like what ive seen by them but i dont know the history of the brand. what was meant when someone implied the line being a srpingboard for otrher people in the sneaker and street industry?

Silas started off as Holmes in Slam City Skates about ten years ago. There are a load of clothing companies/shops that are now heavily influenced by ex-Silas employees. The ones I know of include:
