Used clothing or 'vintage' is an industry built on knowledge and know-how. Over the past 30 years many different commodities have come to the forefront and commanded top dollar. Typically items made after 1960 have ruled the roost in the vintage marketplace. Big E Levis, Western Shirts, Reverse Weave Champion sweatshirts, the list goes on. Over the past 10 years, there has been an explosion of younger vintage customers commanding completely different vintage commodities. Sportswear and everything it encompasses has become a niche market all unto itself. Retro sneaker models started as a small market and over the past decade have boomed into a multi billion dollar industry. Everyone from Nike to Retro Fox has tried its hand at retro buzz. Retro is easy for customers to read since they have seen it before and comfortable to go back to, since it holds classic and already formed esthetics

Enter Hoboken and Haberdashery, a vintage retail concept project to supply the growing demand of the contemporary marketplace. Vintage sportswear product from a decade ago, is now commanding higher dollar values then 50 year old blue jeans. The louder the better, finally the fashion on the 1980's is paying dividends. Being different is as difficult today as it ever was, and fashion forward customers are sick and tired of the cookie cutter product available at every boutique, vintage garners a certain amount of exclusivity and one-of-a-kindness.
