i was wondering if anyone here brings mad volume of merchandise to tokyo.

my job requires that i do this from time to time. some of the companies i work for encourage me to undervalue below market price in order to save on duties.

obviously handcarrying is way cheaper then shipping depending on the volume and explaining your undervalued invoice in person is way easier then just providing some shady invoice for your shipping.

i have dual citizenship and although i am of mixed race, my family name is jap and i blend in. i don't get a hard time like korean or nigerian shippers, but customs are pretty much on to me.

does anyone know about the records database for customs? how many times does it take for the redflag to appear when they scan your passport? are customs actually allowed to charge you more then the base 15%-20% of the shit you're importing? market pricing is relative and in terms of clothing fluxuates, but how many times can you do this without jeoperdizing your travelling/import status? anyone have any experience?
