Twisted seams?

My PBJ 005's have twisted seams. i.e. when cuffed the selvage on the right leg is where itshould be on the side of my foot but on the left leg it is a couple of inches forward on my foot.

What gives? Is it a defect in the manufacturing process or did it shrink unevenly in the soak?

look up the differnce between left hand twill, right hand twill and broken twill. Right hand will twist one way, left hand twill will twist the other way and broken twill evens it out so there is no twist at all. Broken twill is basically a zig-zag in the twill pattern. Use the search function if you want a more in depth explanation.

my Levi's are wierd with this though, cuz one seam is twisted to the front, and one isnormal :(

Yeah, I think because only one is twisted it threw me. Either way its cool but I'm an anal fuck and would rather have it stay straight. Maybe I should start wearing Tommy Hilfiger or Dockers jeans.

after how many washes does the twist appear? im at month 7 of my samurais, left hand weave if that makes a diffrence, and there is almost no twist. i want a twist and there is nothing doing. oh i forgot to mention, i did a hot soak when a got them and have washed twice so far.

from my understanding, jeans with right hand twill twists on the leg leg and a left hand twill denim twists on the right but i have jeans that are right hand twill yet the twist is on the right leg... what gives?

This is the beauty of denim. It's like a box of chocolates....

Both legs will twist just to what degree. For RHT, the left leg outseam twists to the front and the right leg inseam twists to the front. And for LHT, its the other way round. Its like one goes clockwise and the other goes anti-clockwise looking from the top.

i'm wearing LHT okinawas right now.... (looking down) the right leg has twisted counter - clockwise but there is no apparent twist on the left leg. That's what i don't get.....

my RHT sammies started to twist right after the first soak, and i hated it @ first, but im anal about symetry, until i realized it was an affect from non-sanforizing, and just a part of the wabi-sabi of non-pre-shrunk cotton. if you want shrink-to-fit, its something you will inevitably have to deal with. embrace it!

my eternals are twisting quite a bit. The only thing i find interesting about it is honeycombs forming on the inseam.

Shit mine did the same thing on the left leg, i was just noticing that the other day, and i laughed when i realized that my right leg is perfectly straight.

It more than likely shrank unevenly in the soak. That's called torque (pronounced "tork"). I buy raw denim all the time and have it tested. If I notice any torquing, I don't use it.
