earnest sewn stitching

Was looking at a pair of earnest sewn selvedge w/ the neat two color stitching, but noticed all of the ones at the store had pretty crooked looking stiching on the back horizontal stitch above the pockets. Well, not really crooked, let's just say the distance between the seam and the thread was very inconsistent. I could not tell if it was intentional. It's not too bad, but then it's not too subtle either.. Just kind of bothers me, that's all.

Anyone know about this? I like the jeans, and I'm thinking about picking them up. Was hoping someone on here could shed some light on it. maybe it's a bad batch? or maybe it's intentional?

I have a pair, and the stiching is like that on mine also. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be like that.
