Umm...I'm not going to try...I'll either explain it better (which wont matter because you already made up your mind) or just sound like im babbling...there's no exact point I can say with a sentence...but everyone gets it.

It conveys my point...which is why im printing it.

Again, thanks for the input guys.

dum i think the concept works...touches on a topic that's outside of the usual diamond glitz of street wear while still being visually appealling. i would agree with whoever it was that said it would work as a poster, i think the impact of the image would work better like that rather on someone matching it with their fitted, which you know is inevitable lol

on the gollywog shirt, at first glance, it just looks as if theres a rather large gollywog standing behind a frightened guy.

something as simple as changing the color of the shirt would create some sort of consistency throughout the image.

at first glance i just thought the guy was gonna be eaten or something...

maybe im the only one.

I don't mind the first one. I think that was your trump card, though, so I'd like to say that it's not that well illustrated. Not the drawings themselves, the guy doesn't look like he's morphing into the big guy. Could be drawn better. Look at more Hulk transformations. Maybe some intermediate stage guys. And I agree that putting coons is too much. No problem with your message either.

I like the NP one. Didn't even get the Beatles reference. Didn't need it either.

Like the old Kitty Pryde cover reference. That's showing your age, though. Wasn't that like, 80s? No hate intended. If I can remember it, that means I'm in that group as well.

the coon things annoys me cause its kind of ambiguous and irresponsible

you may have an explanation but i don't think the image is clear enough in whatever it is saying so it initially evokes annoyance in me border line offense I would never wear that event when i was an angry teenager i wouldn't have worn it

well said.

on top of which, let's be honest, the people who would probably jump on that shirt are

the people who don't recognize the issue you're trying to bring to people's minds. not only don't they recognize it, it's a part of their lifestyle, a part of their outlook on life, etc.

.

actually, i think i know exactly who the people that would jump on that shirt are.

hiphop-hipster cocksuckers who have been reppin since 1993 and feel like their true understanding of the state of the art entitles them to any sort of voice or opinion. that shirt actually makes me want to puke for several reasons.

the other 2 shirts are aiight.

All politics aside, I think you are a swell designer with a ton of talent mr.DUM, the graphics are top notch. Are you selling them yet?

Sorry for being noooby, but what is the story behind the infamous date rape T?

From an art standpoint, the first one is good. Good graphics, nice characters, good execution, and a message--you're opinion on the state of mainstream hip hop.

From a design standpoint, I would give it a D-. I'll use the definition of design as given by Charles Eames, which basically says design is about solving problems in the best possible way (aesthetically, visually, culturally...) while under certain constraints. By that definition of design, you haven't really solved the problem. Yes, you've brought it to light and made it public, but in a way that would either need to be explained or worse, would be misinterpretted to be racist.

Also, the topic has been covered by everything from movies like "Hollywood Shuffle" & "Bamboozled" to even more recently Dave Chappelle's choice to quit his TV show at the tune of $50 million. So it's not a new message, but it's being applied to a different medium--current mainstream hip hop.

So I'm not trying to bash you. I think you have talent as an artist and T-shirt maker. Like I said, the graphics are good and you are trying to make a message. I just think that in order to get the message across, there should be an attempt to solve the problem and not just say, "hey, here's what's wrong, but I don't have anything to offer to try & fix it." But I do think you have a future in this business because you do have talent.

The first shirt blatantly racist... no matter who you are. I hope whoever wore that shirt would get the shit beat out of him. Especially because I'm almost 100% sure that the person wearing has no idea of the connotations associated with that rendition of "hulk" I agree with the hip hop kid being appropriately dressed but coon shit is ignorant as fuck

honestly that shit is plain garbage
