Please help a tall guy find denim!

Hello Superdenim,

I apologize for such a long post, but I want to provide you with as much information so that you can give me the best advice. I have lurked around this forum and haven't found much concerning my plight, even in the sticky at the top. But I suppose I must elaborate. My experiences in jeans up to this point have consisted mostly of American Eagle jeans that fall apart very quickly. However, I am interested now in this "premium denim" you speak of.

But it is rather difficult finding much that might fit me. You see, I am 6'5" and I weigh around 205 pounds. I believe my jean waist size is closest to 35, but I am forced to make due with 36. A 34 is usually nearly skin tight on my thighs. I wouldn't mind something slim but it seems I am usually limited by my large thighs.

As far as length, it might just be that I'm in high school still, but is it a fashion no-no to reveal ankle when sitting and wearing anything other than dress pants? Maybe I could just remedy this by wearing wild patterned long socks? So otherwise I'm looking at an inseam of 36" or so. I'm thinking jeans that will drape over the shoe but still not catch under it when walking and fray the back.

So basically, I'd like to know where tall people go for good, comfortable jeans. I just got some Lucky Brand jeans and they seem really comfortable but I'm unsure about their durability. Long Story Short: I'm really tall with kinda thick legs and want to know about good jeans that will fit well. Also, is it okay to show ankle when sitting?

As a bonus, here are pictures of me in the Lucky Jeans. They are Bootleg 181 36 X-long (37"). Too long? Too big in the waist?

Those fit fine, especially in length. However, I think you could go smaller in the waist without any problems, do you have any pics of jeans in that size?

Right now the trend is in slim fitting anyway, so I think slim on the thigh is a better look. Your pics look a little "so 1998" for lack of better phrase. Still fine though.
