Sizing of APC jeans compared to LEVIs

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a pair of APC. I love Levi's 517 jeans, the bootcut slim fit style, but now i want to buy a simple straight cut jean. I usually wear a 31 in the levis, but was wondering what size I should get in the APC ones? Also, if I want a similar fit to the 517, should i get the unisex or the anglais jean? Thanks for you help in advance.

I love the 517 cut too. I haven't worn the unisex APC cut, but I have a pair of the Anglaise and they are quite baggy. Nothing like the 517. I suspect that the unisex cut is exactly what you describe - simple straight cut, and low waisted. Serge de Nime, a poster on this site, just posted on the unisex cut (do a search) and from that I gather that the cut is regular straigtht, but that the waist size runs about 1 to 2 inches big, i.e., a 33 measures about 34.5 to 35. That is also my experience with the Anglaise cut, except that the Anglaise is very baggy in the seat, thigh and leg. Hope that helps.

The Unisex habve a really nice low waisted flat yoke cut. They are awesome. They are a lot like 517 without the bootcut. They don't have that unflattering anti-fit like the 501.

Agree with Serge. I too have a pair of the unisex jeans - they have a great shape. They are a little bit too big though on the waist.

Thanks for all the info, it looks like the unisex ones are the answer. Do you find that they shrink after wash in the waist? My wait measures at 31.5, so most likely I should be buying 30 inch waist jean i take it?

And just one more question, do you guys knows what the rise on the front of the jean is? 7 inches? 9 inches? 10 inches? Thank again for all the help!

Just bought these today, they are great. I'm usually a 33-33.5 and I take a 32 in the Unisex APC. The rise measures 10.5 inches from crotch seam to top of waistband.
