evisu "please read this"

Recommended Posts

hi im new to the forum and i was wondering if any one knows any japanese websites that sell evisu internationally. i buy evisus from www.okamotoclothing.co.jp but they are fairly limited in what they sell. reading some of the posts on the site already, i noticed that people don't really like the label, i personally can't stand evisu europe, denim styles are too similar and i think they emphasise on style now more than quality. evisu japan have better variations in design and i really like the different varieties denim. thanks in advance!!

Can anyone tell me the difference between evisu, evis, and stylecraft... I know that evisu came out of evis, but i dont know where stylecraft fits into all of this.

sorry to hijack the thread but it seems dead anyways.

if you are looking for evisu online, just be careful for fakes - there are tons.

thanks in advance,

dave

the original name for evisu is evis, this was the name of the label when they released their first collection in 1988. the orginal seagull evisu was actually the levi's logo but painted (i've seen a pair of 1988 evisu jeans). when the company started to do well, levi's sued evisu for copyright of their name and logo.

evis

l+evis = levi's

evisu then changed their name and also changed the logo as well.

if you're not sure on how to spot a fake pair of evisu, ALL real evisu have the following details

1- ALL evisu jeans have white fabric stitched inside the lower part of the rear pockets

2-ALL evisu jeans have a seam stitched inside the small pocket at the front of the jeans (normally red or white)

3- Majority of indigo colour evisu use two different colours for stitching, this is normally orange and yellow thread (not the case will other colours of denim e.g. black, sky blue)

4- if you take a penny and scratch away at the rivets, they should stay the same colour. if they are fake then they will go black and it will flake off. also use a hot iron and run over the rivets, works the same.

most of the time you can spot a fake just by looking at the logo, or looking at the quality of denim that's how i nomally spot a fake + sometimes you can tell from the designs on the jeans as well.

does any know any japanese websites? thanks in advance!!
