checking my bags in NYC

I plan on travelling to New York City soon, a short week-end trip... my plan is this: get there early on saturday morning, shop/hang out during the day, go out at night, party party party, and sleep on the bus on my way home...

I don't want to spend money on a hotel room, there's no point. But is there any place you guys know of where I could store my bag at the beginning of the night so I don't have to carry it around all night from club to club? Some kind of locker I can rent? I know they used to have lockers at the Port Authority bus terminal but I think they're gone now, with all the post 9/11 terrorist paranoia... help!
