On another forum I used to frequent, there was a problem with just TOO many "newb" questions and such, so the old timers were leaving. The response was an invite only "secret forum" called the snug. Where you could discuss whatever you wanted, without the equivelent of APC sizing questions. Kinda nice, but the turnover was not very good as you could imagine. This was ipodlounge.com
