Literal forum of public opinion- Damaged goods sold to me from 6MT

I did not make a judgement, though I clearly see how one could be implied. What I was trying to say, is that with this, I do not think that any amount of logic, debate, reason put forth by any side will make positions weaken. This is why I have said many times, that I think a price reduction discussion is a likely place to start negotiation, if 6MT does not feel that it is worth while to make good (what I would consider, granted).

Cultpop, do you think that there is more responsibility for an online buyer to inspect goods than there is for an online seller to make sure that goods are as they describe? I got goods, they looked fine, I did what any of us would have done. Even if 6MT did give me a full refund, and sold these jeans for $60 dollars, he would have made a considerable amount on all these jeans he has sold. The crux is not whether I got a good deal or not or what, I did not get what I paid for, so maybe it is reasonable to discuss how much value has been reduced by the soak. History Preservation says $0. However, if you take this all the way back, if the jeans were not damaged, we would not be here.

what size are the jeans in question? some of the most beautiful vintage jeans i have seen have weaving flaws. adds charecter down the road. if these fit me, i may be the cheapbastard that i am and buy them.

tough situation men... i feel for both of you.

exactly wrong, value is not even an issue here. providing what you advertise is the issue.

How is value not an issue? it has been determined already that there is a flaw, and that that would decrease what hew would have paid for them had he known, or if he would even buy them, their value was different to hew because of it. Not that they have been soaked, the value has gone down even more in regard to 6mt. It is a question of what they are worth to both parties and what is the grounds for a solution.

generally no. but him not noticing a missing warp thread and red tab on the back of a the knee of one pair of jeans he is selling is more understandable than you not noticing said flaw and red tab on one pair of jeans you were about to soak and wear.

look, i understand the principle that you are standing behind completely but i think you are also being a bit unreasonable.

i have said this before: you should both take a measure of responsibility and compromise.

whether that means you return the jeans and he refunds most of your money or you keep them and get a further discount i dont know.

but i think you both are partially responsible.

CMF, these are now exactly 16.5 across the back. Length should be damn close to 34.

Cultpop, your's and others arguments make me agree with you that this would be reasonable, ideal no, but reasonable. I can not stress enough that through all of this 6MT has not offered any concession to me.Also, the fact that he did not tell the truth about when they were shipped, makes me extra pissed and cynical to be blunt.
