need help on lvc 555

Sorry but i need help....

Having a clear out and found these jeans in amongst a pile of others, id and info on value (if any) would be greatly appreciated

judging from both the features and the number on the tag (445010161), it's a 501 1944 repro. LVC generally puts the vintage year before 501, so that's one quick way of id'ing.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 555 indicates that it was made in the Valencia St. factory (which, to many, is a highly desirable trait).

That's about all this amateur knows... anything else I'm missing?

Those are definately 44s and an early pair because the don't have the shirt material pockets. The tag on 44s is usually leather and that makes me suspect as this appears to have a paper waist tag. The 555 does means Valencia St. They look pretty nice though. I'd wear them, I love the 44 fit. The painted on arcuates are pretty well gone and it looks kinda cool that way.

the waist tag is leather, its destroyed though, from whats left of it you can see it is clearly (or at least was) leather, just not from the pic i supplied. Thanks for the help folks, anyone else with anything else to add?

Well, if the tag is leather then I would say you got a very nice pair of 44s. Congrats.

Yep those are 44 LVCs from Valencia St. Nice jeans. I really like the early levis LVC redline denim.

thanks everyone, the next thing is, do i keep something that doesn't fit me anymore even if they are very nice or do i get rid?

i have more than enough 'stuff' as it is but they are sweet......can't see anything around on auction sites that are comparable so i don't have a realistic idea or value, any help anyone?

Put'm on ebay and start'm at $59, Ya never know. A fair price would be around $100 but it could go higher or maybe not. Get GOOD photos....
