FS: Union Special 43200 G Third Gen

This machine needs no introduction, it is a Union Special (Third Gen) 43200G Single Needle Chain Stitch Hemming Machine.

This listing is for the machine, the mounting plate, pneumatic folder; no table or motor or knee push.

This machine has been repainted white from the original beige of the Gen III machines. This machine is in great cosmetic and mechanical condition, the internal parts are in far better condition than most G's I have seen come up for sale in a long, long time. See for yourself in the pics with the side plates removed.

This machine is in sound mechanical condition and has many parts that most sweatshop machines are missing.

It has all the covers, even the rear cover which virtually all 43200 machines are missing.

This machine has had new wool wicks added to the main oil reservoir.

Please watch the video of this machine sewing, notice the lack of the usual metallic clatter sound, the absence of that sound (most G's make that sound) means that the push-rods, rocker arms, and other moving parts are in proper adjustment which means this machine will hem very nicely as intended from the factory. You will hear the sound of the belt hitting the mounting plate as the mounting plate in the video is from a 43200 F machine, you will receive the proper G plate with your purchase.

This is rare chance to own a piece of denim history. This machine would make a great addition to any small or large jean shop that has in-store hemming, manufacturing facility, collector, or just a devoted denim head.

This machine has a folder equipped with a pneumatic folder (Genuine Union Special folder not a cheap after-market folder) that has been modified to open and close with a pneumatic ram. It will need an actuator and they are available from Universal Sewing Supply. The pneumatic folder is much more efficient than a manual folder but it will require an air-source and an actuator, either foot or hand operated. The folder can be swapped out for a manual style folder which will require the fabrication or sourcing of the knee lift pivot arm. (stick with the pneumatic folder it is way nicer...)

*Note* in the video's this machine is running on a 43200F plate for demonstrative purposes only, the mounting plate you will receive will be the proper 43200G plate; the knee push attachment pivot point has been removed because the new folder is a pneumatic folder. The folder has been removed for the video so you can see the machine operating. As a result the hem does not have a pronounced roping effect, this is because the folder is the reason that the 43200 G makes a roped hem, not the machine itself. The "push-pull" effect is a misnomer and unfortunately many denim heads believe this incorrect information, the roping is caused by a feed differential between the folder and the machine. When you put the folder on this machine your hems will be roped so do not worry. As noted previously, this listing is for the head, mounting plate, and folder only.
